The sea has always been my compass. Long before I painted the California coastline, I learned to dream beside another sea. Life carried me across countries and seasons, but it was here, among wildflowers, ocean light, and endless horizons, that I found my way back to painting, and quietly, back to myself. When I paint, time slips away. The world grows still. Painting becomes a place where I can breathe, dream, and say the things words have never fully held. It is my quiet language. I paint with palette knives because they invite me to be bold. Through layers of color and texture, I search not for perfection, but for feeling. The warmth of spring sunlight, the rhythm of the waves, the joy of flowers dancing in the wind, the peaceful pause of a morning coffee by the sea, these fleeting moments remind me that beauty is always present for those willing to slow down and notice. My paintings are not meant to recreate a landscape. They are an invitation to step inside one. To wander, to linger, to breathe deeply. To remember what it feels like to be free, to feel hope, and to discover that home is sometimes less a place than a feeling we carry within us. If, for a moment, my work allows someone to forget the noise of the world and leave feeling a little lighter, a little more alive, then the painting has found its purpose. |
